On arrival to Merzouga you will immediately jump on your camel and traverse the sand dunes to see the sunset over Erg Chebbi
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Today we will start the journey from Marrakech to Dades valley across the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m high) in the High Atlas Mountains. You will enjoy the beautiful landscapes and be able to see Berber villages on the way. Then you will visit Kasbah Ait benhadou, a heritage site famous for the movies that were shot here, among them are: Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of heaven, and some others. After lunch you will go to Ouarzazate, The Gate of Sahara, and then finally you will enter the Rose valley and the city of roses with its fascinating Skoura palm grove. After the trip you will have a delicious dinner and have time to share with your new friends the experience of your first days in Dades valley where we will stay overnight. (Travel distance: 340 Km)
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Tinjdad – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga
After your now beloved Moroccan breakfast we will take you to Tighir village stopping for a morning walk across Todgha gorges where the cliffs are as high as 600m and only 10m wide. After lunch in Tinjedad you will visit Touroug Palm Plantation and Erfoud town where you will have the opportunity to see the local fossil craft workshop. After the workshop we will take you to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi and the Dunes of Merzouga. From here your trip will continue on camelback. You will be able to enjoy the sunset from the dunes and stay overnight in the Desert Camp in the middle of the dunes of Merzouga. (Travel distance: 240 Km)
Day 3:Merzouga – Tazarine – Agdez – Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Early in the morning we will enjoy the sunrise from the dunes of Erg chebbi, just 50 km away of Algeria, have breakfast in the camp and go back to the place where our car is parked. We will drive across acacia tree savanas into Draa valley, the longest and most preserved palm valley of Morocco. Then we will head north to Ouarzazate on the way back to Marrakech via Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Enough nomad life! Back to civilization! We will stay overnight in Marrakech. (Travel distance: 550 Km)
