This volcanic mountain region is perfect for trekking at any season as it never snows there. The Saghro is situated between the High Atlas mountains and the Sahara desert. This location makes it possible to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga and reach a remote side of the Sahara. The highlands and volcanic monoliths look a bit like the southwestern part of the U.S. with its springs and canyons.
